Basic intraocular lens
At the Eye Centre Prague, you can undergo cataract surgery fully covered by health insurance.
However, only basic intraocular lenses are covered by public health insurance. Despite this, the Eye Centre Prague offers no-copayment intraocular lenses from world-renowned manufacturers (Lenstec, Zeiss, and Alcon) as part of its care.

Standard monofocal intraocular lens
- The intraocular lenses used at the Eye Centre Prague have the CE mark (meaning they meet the safety, health, and environmental requirements of the EU), and some are also FDA certified.
- The lens is made from a single piece of hydrophilic acrylic.
- Patients can be assured that no intraocular lenses manufactured in developing countries are offered at our facility.

We recommend that you consider choosing premium intraocular lenses for your surgery. These lenses will be gentler on your eyes, provide better contrast sensitivity, and may even allow you to completely eliminate your dependence on glasses.
As part of premium cataract treatment, patients can choose special intraocular lenses and permanently put their glasses aside. The options include:
- Trifocal intraocular lenses – provide high-quality vision at near, intermediate, and far distances, completely eliminating dependence on glasses.
- EDOF (Extended Depth of Focus) intraocular lenses – offer sharp vision at far and intermediate distances, as well as at so-called functional near distances, with fewer optical phenomena.
- Aspheric lenses – deliver better visual quality in low-light conditions and improved contrast sensitivity.
- Toric lenses – designed for patients with corneal astigmatism, a condition identified by the doctor during a comprehensive eye examination.
