Life without glasses is great
Eye Centre Prague will be changing its location in April. While it remains in Prague's Holešovice district, it is moving to the new premises of the Port7 building, which was constructed by Skanska at Nádraží Holešovice. The new facilities of OCP will provide patients with excellent transportation accessibility, a beautiful modern environment, and expanded access to healthcare.
Eye Centre Prague, a clinic with over twenty years of tradition, has become the first tenant in the Port7 project, built by Skanska next to the Vltava River, near the Troja Bridge, behind the Praha-Holešovice train station.
OCP will be located on the ground floor of the 'Edinburgh' building, utilizing nearly 2,000 m². In the new facilities, patients will have access to pleasant, spacious waiting areas, modern examination rooms, a total of 12 specialized eye clinics, and four hi-tech operating rooms. Patients will also be able to use the services of a pharmacy and an optical shop.
'The need for modern, tailored spaces, excellent accessibility for patients, the strategy of continuous company growth, and the expansion of healthcare services—all of this has driven the relocation of our clinic. The Port7 project meets all of our requirements in this regard,' explains Adam Janek, CEO of Eye Centre Prague.
In comparison, in the current premises of the Lighthouse Tower building next to the Libeň Bridge, OCP occupies an area of 450 m², which includes 5 specialized eye clinics, one operating room, and one procedure room.
Creating a clinic literally tailored to our needs required a total investment of approximately 100 million CZK.
'Our strategy is to continuously invest in quality and offer our patients the latest technologies, equipment, and treatment methods. We believe that by providing the best and highest quality care, this investment will pay off,' states Adam Janek.
By relocating the clinic to new premises, Eye Centre Prague will offer its patients greater comfort in terms of transportation accessibility, the comprehensiveness of services provided, and the environment in which healthcare is delivered.
“With its location and unparalleled transportation accessibility, comfort for patients and staff will be ensured. You will find everything here—an accessible underpass directly from the Nádraží Holešovice metro station, a train station for suburban and long-distance trains, more than ten tram and bus lines, quick access to the Prague ring road, the city circuit, and highways for those traveling by car, and last but not least, a revitalized cycling path. As a bonus, there will also be a dock for small boats. This combination is unparalleled in Prague. The entire Port7 project is a timeless, representative, and innovative building where both Czech patients and our international clientele will feel comfortable and safe,” outlines the advantages of the new location, Adam Janek.
The new, significantly larger premises will allow for a substantial increase in the clinic's capacity and enhance the availability of healthcare services for patients. As a result, appointment waiting times will be minimized, and it will be possible to provide eye care to more patients.
“In the newly constructed, tailored spaces, several hi-tech operating rooms will be established, along with a couple of dozen examination rooms and specialized clinics. A pharmacy and optical shop will also be included, and we plan to expand into other specialties as well,” describes Adam Janek.
Patients will receive comprehensive eye care in one location, ranging from diagnostics to laser procedures, biological treatments, and ocular microsurgery. Additionally, they will now be able to use pharmacy services, allowing them to purchase all medicinal products directly at the clinic. An optical shop will also be available for patients to order glasses immediately after their examination or purchase only sunglasses if they have completely eliminated their prescription glasses at OCP.
The relocation of OCP to the new premises in the Port7 building is one of the biggest milestones in the clinic's history.
"Eye Centre Prague was established over twenty years ago as one of the first healthcare facilities specializing in cataract surgeries in the Czech Republic. Since then, the range of eye care and healthcare services offered has grown incredibly, and the entire clinic has changed and advanced significantly over the past 23 years. I believe that moving to Port7 and expanding access to healthcare will push OCP even further," says Adam Janek.
The Port7 project will transform the former factory for precast concrete panels near the Troja Bridge into a new center for Prague's Holešovice district. According to the architectural design by DAM.architekti, three office buildings are being constructed here, which will offer a total of 35,642 m² of premium office and retail space upon completion in the second quarter of 2023. The project will also include a large public area. The landscaped green space with a promenade along the river will serve for relaxation, walks, and socializing with friends. The new Holešovice waterfront, featuring a cycling path, playground, and dock for small boats, will be appreciated by sports enthusiasts.
OCP was the first contractual tenant of the Port7 building. Skanska will use its Connected by Skanska system for this project, which simplifies daily use of the building for tenants, visitors, and management. This unique platform not only integrates smart technologies but, more importantly, connects people with their work environment.
The software includes a mobile application for regular users (employees of the companies that will be located in Port7) and a web portal for tenants and building management. With Connected by Skanska, it will be possible to park, enter the building and offices, and order services from the virtual reception contactlessly. The entry system will allow employees to upload their employee card to Apple Wallet.
